Pedro Colaco

President & CEO

Pedro co-founded GuestCentric Systems in October 2006 and has served as President and CEO since. Pedro brings extensive experience in the networking and software industries to his role. Pedro has a proven track record of driving successful product development, marketing, sales and channel management efforts in the global market.

Prior to founding GuestCentric, Pedro was Vice President of Product Management and Marketing at Corvil, an Ireland based software start-up funded by Apax Partners and Cisco Systems. During his tenure at Corvil he built a global Product Management and Marketing organization to support a sales team of over 60 professionals. Before joining Corvil, Pedro was Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Expand Networks, a leading vendor of application traffic management solutions based in New Jersey from where he managed the company’s marketing and business development activities on all six continents. From 1999 to 2001, Pedro was Director of Product Management and Marketing for Unisphere Networks a Boston startup, where he was responsible for developing and managing the market strategy for next-generation IP voice products including network and service management. Prior to Unisphere, Pedro worked 7 years for the information and communications division of Siemens where he held increasingly senior roles in product management and product development at offices in Germany and the United States.

Pedro holds a bachelors degree in Electrotechnical and Computer Systems Engineering from the Instituto Superior Tecnico in Lisbon, Portugal and studied towards an MBA at the Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida.

Filipe Tappenbeck

Vice President

Filipe co-founded GuestCentric Systems in October 2006 and has served as Vice President since. Filipe brings enthusiasm and passion for creating innovative and effective design solutions and a track record in entrepreneurship related to user-centric applications to his role.

Prior to founding GuestCentric, Filipe was Senior UI Product Manager at Corvil, a Dublin, Ireland based software start-up. At Corvil, Filipe designed and developed user interfaces that maximized productivity and efficiency for the end users by working directly with customers and defining requirements for the development team. Before joining Corvil, Filipe was a Systems Anayst for Expand Networks, in New Jersey where he integrated on-demand applications for managing sales and distribution channels, by working closely with the sales and support teams and on-demand CRM vendor salesforce.com in its initial market presence. Prior to Expand, Filipe was Founder and CEO at Infrastrukture.com, a web design and programming company focused on developing user-centric application solutions. Prior to Expand, Filipe worked for B. Braun, a leading medical devices company, where he held increasingly senior roles in product management in Portugal.

Filipe holds a bachelors degree in Business Administration from Universidade Lusiada in Lisbon, Portugal, a Masters in Computer Science from Polytechnic University in Brooklyn, New York and an MBA with specialization in e-commerce from National University in San Diego, California.

Jose Silva

Director of Software Development

Jose joined GuestCentric in June 2007 as Director of Development with responsibility for the development of the software that powers GuestCentric’s innovative services. Jose is an experienced leader in Web 2.0 development that has hands-on experience of what it takes to launch successful scalable applications.

Prior to joining GuestCentric, Jose was a leading systems architect at Sapo, the leading Portuguese portal with over 500 million visits per month. At Sapo, Jose launched context-sensitive rich media advertising targeted at diverse Web 2.0 properties. Before joining Sapo in 2005, Jose was responsible for the Internet development at Chiptec, where he led intranet and web application projects including complex integration with leading ERP and CRM systems and e-commerce platforms like PayPal.

Joao Trindade

Director of Marketing

Joao joined GuestCentric in October 2007 as Director of Marketing with responsibility for building the GuestCentric brand and driving innovative programs that will maintain GuestCentric’s lead in Travel 2.0 services. Joao is an award-winning web applications executive with over 12 years of combined start-up and agency experience.

Prior to GuestCentric, Joao was co-founder and Managing Partner at Wisse Financial, an innovative start-up focused on compliance and anti-money laundering systems for the financial services industry. Before founding Wisse Financial, Joao spearheaded many innovative Internet services, including award-winning web front-ends for the financial industry in close cooperation with Fiserv in the US, Canada, France and Greece.

Joao holds a BA in Design and Communication from IADE in Lisbon, Portugal.
