GuestCentric’s booking engine has always been secured by an SSL certificate. This ensures that all data – personal and financial – being transmitted between guests’ devices and the booking engine server is encrypted and safe from prying eyes.

Beginning last October, Google is now flagging non-SSL websites as unsafe. Additionally, websites with the certificate in place get a slight boost in their search ranking. Therefore, we made it possible for you to have an SSL certificate installed on your website.

Furthermore, with the SSL certificate in place, you can now have your booking engine on the same domain as your website. This prevents guests from fleeing the booking engine because they didn’t understand the change in URLs and were afraid of being “hijacked”.

Another added benefit: UTM codes for marketing campaigns work best when codes “travel” between secured systems, such as your website and booking engine.

Having an SSL certificate for your domain and having your booking engine on the same domain as your website:

  • boost your search engine ranking;
  • facilitates marketing campaigns tracking;
  • prevents Google’s “unsafe connection” warnings;
  • builds trust and awareness around your brand;
  • improves user experience across your website and booking engine, leading up to more direct reservations.
