How to Promote a hotel on Facebook
To get started with Facebook and to learn how to promote your hotel on Facebook, the first thing you need to know is the difference between a Facebook Profile and a Facebook Fan Page:
The Facebook Profile is a private page for an individual to share information, videos, pictures comments etc. with their friends. This means that if a person is not registered they will have some limitations in accessing information.
Once you have a Facebook Profile you can create your hotel’s Facebook Fan page. You should use it as an extension of your website to mimic and highlight important features. Your Facebook fan page is a great tool for search engine optimization because it is public thus visible to unregistered people and easily index to search engines. In your fan page you can post the hotel information, events, photos, videos, reviews, comments, special promotions, links etc. And most importantly encourage your fans/customers to publish testimonials and help spread your news among their network.
Another great gadget of the fan page is that you can keep track of the metrics of your page so you can evaluate the number of visitors, demographic data and what kind information your fans liked the most.
Hotel Facebook
Thanks to new innovative technology like GuestCentric’s unique portable booking engine hoteliers are now able to sell their rooms directly on their facebook fan page. We call this Hotel Facebook. The Facebook hotel booking engine is displayed on a button that is similar to the book now button on your website. From here visitors have full access to your hotel’s booking engine without having to leave the Facebook application. This is another simple way for you to convert visits into bookings.
