Taking an hotel online experience to the next level with GuestCentric

“Right from the start, we noticed that our direct reservations through the new website doubled. GuestCentric’s websitedesign came through just fantastic, really conveying the look-and feel of the hotel.”, said Jamie Adamson, General Manager of The Leathes Head.

Background

Situated in the unspoilt Borrowdale Valley, The Leathes Head is an eleven-bedroom, Edwardian country house luxury hotel. The hotel is located on Lake District and is set amongst three acres of private grounds. It is surrounded by a stunning scenery, meandering rivers and some of the most spectacular fells in North West England. With superb views across the valley and easy access to Keswick, this is the perfect place for a relaxing break.

Designing Inspiration & Interaction to maximize Direct Bookings

The Leathes Head management team realized that their website was not reflecting the wonders of the surrounding nature or the relaxing moments this Hotel can offer to its guests.

Moreover, they had used the previous website for 3 years and noticed that it was beginning to look outdated compared to some of the new websites out there: “The Lake District area is very competitive, with some of the best hotels in the UK and we needed our website to stand out”, Jamie Adamson mentioned.

The property worked closely with the GuestCentric team to update the hotel’s online performance by designing and developing a technology driven website, following the latest trends: “We wanted a new website with leading technology and different from all the other hotel websites in the surrounding Lake District area. We also wanted to increase direct bookings through our website and compete with booking.com. An appealing website that transmits the real hotel experience will encourage people to book directly and cut out some third party websites as much as possible”, Jamie Adamson stated.

GuestCentric developed the new website having in mind a unique user experience. The unique integration of website + booking engine that GuestCentric provides allows a booking funnel creation that simplifies the journey for the guest. All this automatically optimized for search engines, mobile and social media.

An unprecedented performance

The new website design brought amazing outcomes and results:

  • Reservations through the website direct increased by 100%;
  • Online room occupancy up to 18%;
  • Average Daily Rate increased by 10%.

“We found the whole experience easy-to-use and very enjoyable. We had examples sent over to us and had the opportunity to pick out pros and cons from other clients’ references in websites, and the designers really took on board what we told them.”
