Senior PHP Software Developer
You will be part of the core team that is responsible for designing and developing the core business logic for web based applications using web 2.0 technologies.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in high tech field
- Minimum 3 years of recent experience in hands-on software design and coding in a high-tech environment
Responsibilities
- Create software specifications and develop software frameworks, application logic and database layers
- Providing time estimations and participate in budget assessments
- Coach and mentor junior developers
- Participate in requirement gathering to define technical requirements and features
- Co-define the tactical direction concerning business logic and database development
- Participate in international HTNG (Hotel Technology Next-Generation) working groups
Knowledge and Skills
- PHP: Solid OOP and software design ability using PHP5. Hard core PHP development experience, preferably with OOP in PHP5
- XML: Strong skills in XML schema design, XML parsing and processing, XPATH and XSLT
- SQL: Strong SQL and data model design skills. Experience in one or more databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL; Experience with Oracle is a plus
Experience
- Three tier client/server: Strong design and coding experience in three tier client server development, Web UI development or both. Strong skills in one or more of the following: application frameworks, server side components, Web Services
- Complex environments: Skills to quickly learn and apply new technologies; Able to program and debug in complex multi-threaded environments. Working with high volume, highly available, complex database driven systems
Abilities
- Passion: Passion for web development. Enthusiasm, creativity, flexibility and a desire to work on an innovative international team
- Problem solving: Excellent problem solver, analytical and detail oriented. Ability to investigate and see problems through to resolution
- Team work: Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment (we are a start up!) and work on multiple competing projects simultaneously
- Deadlines: Efficient time management and working to deadlines. Able to prioritize, execute and deliver projects on time
- English:GuestCentric is an international company and all work will be done in English. Good written and oral skills in English

Junior PHP Software Developer

Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of PHP programming, PHP5 preferred.
- Database knowledge, MySQL 5.x upwards.

Desirable
- Subversion SVN [End User Knowledge].
- Experience with FTP/SSH – Deployment tool.
- Experience with PHP based Content Management Systems (CMS), ZEND Framework and smarty Template engine is advantageous.

Senior Javascript Developer

- Experience applying methodology in a professional and structured environment
- Expert knowledge of CSS, XHTML, Javascript and web standards
- Knowledge of differences between browsers, their implementation of CSS
Desirable
- Experience with Dojo or YUI Javascript Framework
- Experience with JUnit and test-driven development practices
- International experience in a high tech environment

Quality Assurance Engineer
Minimum Job Requirements
Bachelors Degree in high tech field or hospitality or equivalent experience
Applicants must be willing to work any shift and may be required to work at least 1 weekend day as part of their regular shift
Knowledge and Skills
- Documentation skills: Ability to write clear, concise and understandable test cases and strategies and document test results and bugs
- Problem solving: Excellent problem solver, analytical and detail oriented. Ability to investigate and see problems through to resolution

- Attention to detail: Quality focus and ability to work on tasks that require great attention to detail

Responsibilities
- Work within an existing QA team implementing company wide QA processes and procedures
- Define, implement, maintain and execute test scripts for a software product
- Define, develop, implement and maintain automated test scripts
- Define, develop and execute stress, performance and scalability tests
- Perform regression testing on development releases and upgrades
- Document product issues
- Maintain the defects registry and produce reports
- Assist in developing, organizing and maintaining QA methodologies
- Establish close working relationships with the product manager, development teams and clients
- Become a knowledge expert within the business area associated with the product
- Maintain a relation with end users to diagnose and document issues
